Why Multi-Page Scanning Matters
Most people scan one page at a time, manually adjust the image, and then struggle to merge everything into one file. It's slow, error-prone, and frankly frustrating. Foldr was built to eliminate all of that friction.
With Foldr's multi-page capture, you can scan an entire document in a single continuous session — and the app handles edge detection, perspective correction, and contrast enhancement automatically on every shot.
Step 1: Open Foldr and Tap Scan
Launch the app and tap the + button in the center of the tab bar, then select Scan document. You'll enter the camera view immediately — no menus, no setup.
Foldr will start looking for a document edge in real time. You'll see a blue outline appear around the page as soon as it detects the corners.
Step 2: Let Auto-Scan Do the Work
Once the edge outline stabilizes, Foldr captures the page automatically — you don't even need to tap the shutter button. The app detects when the document is still and in focus, then fires on its own.
If you prefer manual control, you can disable Auto-Scan in Settings and tap the shutter yourself. Either way, each captured page is instantly corrected:
- Perspective fix — straightens pages even if photographed at an angle
- Edge crop — removes background clutter automatically
- Contrast enhancement — makes text crisp and readable even in low light
Step 3: Keep Scanning — All Pages, One Session
After each capture, Foldr immediately returns to the camera view ready for the next page. Just flip to the next sheet and it scans again. There's no "save and reopen" between pages.
You can scan as many pages as you need. Foldr has been tested with 50+ page documents and the performance stays smooth throughout.
Step 4: Review and Reorder Pages
Once you've finished scanning, tap Done. You'll see a thumbnail grid of all captured pages. Here you can:
- Drag and drop to reorder pages
- Tap any page to re-crop or re-enhance it
- Delete a page and rescan it if something looks off
This review step is where Foldr saves you the most time. Instead of redoing the whole scan, you just fix the one page that wasn't perfect.
Step 5: Save as a Single PDF
Tap Save and Foldr stitches all your pages into one clean PDF. Name the file, choose a folder, and it lands in your library — searchable, organized, and ready to share.
From there you can export to iCloud, Google Drive, Dropbox, or send directly via Mail, Messages, or any app on your phone.
Bonus: Use Multi-Page Capture for These Document Types
Foldr's multi-page scanning works exceptionally well for:
- Contracts and legal agreements (5–50 pages)
- Medical records and lab reports
- Tax documents and bank statements
- Academic papers and printed handouts
- Product manuals and instruction booklets
Summary
Multi-page scanning in Foldr is designed to get out of your way. Point, shoot, repeat — the app handles the rest. No merging, no adjustments, no exporting to a third-party tool. Just a clean, organized PDF waiting for you at the end.
